The Elzetta Flood Lens for AVS Heads is 7/8″ thick solid acrylic.  It provides a wide uniform diffuse beam for most close range missions such as home defense and close quarters battle (CQB).  The Total Internal Reflection (TIR) Lens produces a soft-edge beam that cannot be duplicated by mere reflectors (see Elzetta’s blog post on Beam Projection for more detailed lens information).  Also fits Bones Flashlight.
