Elzetta ALPHA Gen 3 535 Lumen EDC Light Made Entirely in the USA
The Elzetta Alpha Gen3 series of tactical lights may have a funny name but they are dead serious tactical lights worthy of your hard earned money. These lights are made in Kentucky, USA and have been found to be virtually indestructible. The quality of the LED, lenses and body components are what set these lights apart. We highly recommend the high/low option* as it is the only high/low tailcap that we have found to be appropriate for military and law enforcement applications.

*Elzetta High/Low tail caps are appropriate for MIL/LE use as they utilize a twist method for adjusting output. There are no double clicks or other potentially hazardous steps in order to adjust output. In the case of the Elzetta Alpha, the user can adjust output from 7-415 lumens or any output in between by simply twisting the tail cap and clicking for on/off.

I have become a big fan of ElZetta lights! Quality and Craftsmanship are top tier. Being able to ‘design’ your own light is significant. Modular means you can have extra bodies, swap lamps, lenses, or tail caps to make different lights. We all have different needs based on our missions. Take a minute to understand the different tail cap options before you order. I was so impressed with my MINI – CQB and Bravo, that I ordered the ALPHA for EDC. It is rock solid!
(I don’t think the ALPHA series components are interchangeable with Bravo & Charlie.)
I like the ability to have a low/hi setting, but I do not like how most require a ‘double tap’ which is easy to foul up under stress. ElZetta has a brilliant design where you can ‘turn down’ the secondary feature (strobe or low) and click straight to high – your emergency requirement.
LIGHT QUALITY: We all shop based on lumens but quality of light is harder to market with numbers. I prefer the ElZetta quality of light to any other brand. It is a more ‘natural’ looking light and the transition from the spot to the spill is not as harsh. I find it more useful for target identification throughout the range of the working area of the light.
STANDARD v FLOOD: If you compare lights of the same lumen output for ‘brightness’ at a given distance, you must realize a standard beam looks brighter than a flood beam. A spare $20 changes the light dramatically as you change from flood to standard lens.
WARNING: I bought a mini-cqb for my Patrol Rifle. I was so taken by the quality of ElZetta construction and the light quality, I bought a complete Bravo and a spare Charlie body. A spare body is a great way to have multiple high end lights at a fraction of the cost. ADDICTION: Having a spare body is like having an extra AR lower (Build-Temptation). I now own all four ElZettas with a mount to put the Bravo in my rifle for long range low light.

I got this light for EDC and I love it. It is rugged, small, and bright enough for normal EDC uses. Nice blend of throw and spill. I am using Olight rechargeable CR123’s with good luck so far. They last 40-45 minutes on high, without noticable dimming, and then die suddenly; which is great for edc, but not in a critical application. A spare cr123 is easy to bring along. Only 4 stars because light flickers once each time I turn it on with the rechargeables; does not do it with standard cr123’s. It is a little annoying, but not a deal breaker so far.

Solid light, good EDC size. Construction is great though I’d like some more threads on the tailcap. I would also prefer a bit more throw but it’s not bad, especially since most engagements will need more flood than throw. I got it with the high/low switch but would only recommend it with the clicky single mode due to the difficulty of twisting the light back to high and the overall preciseness of the switch. They really need to ditch their high/low switch and just make it a dual stage clicky, which would be a great combo with a single mode for primary tactical use (if you know trouble is coming versus needing to get to high easily and reliably). With that caveat in mind, it’s five stars.

A really bright light that is tough as nails and easy to use. I have them on all of my long guns. I think the toughest light and best value in the country, best of all made in the USA.

This is a very compact light great for the pocket. The tint is warm and the beam is uniform providing superior field of view. The button tailcap will not accidentally click on. My first purchase here was a great experience.

I gave the older 315 lumen model 4 stars because it flickered when I turned it on, when powered by rechargeable cr123’s. I am happy to report the new 415 lumen model does not flicker when powered by the rechargeables…..it is a solid 5 star light now! Highly recommended. Regarding MDT….great to do business with!

Really loving this small but solid light, decent tint and spill. As a matter of fact I already have two alpha from MTG. Will is very accommodating.

I bought this light to be mounted on an AR10 and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
The quality of the flashlight is second to none. From the finish to the amazingly smooth threads on the tail cap, a huge amount of attention to detail and pride went into making this light and you know it the moment you pick it up.

Solid light. Mounted to AR15, and it ran like a champ during 100’s of rounds. Compact and lightweight. Try it, you will not regret it.

Simple, bomb proof, EDC light. I’m already eyeing up a bravo model for work.

Great little light, just like all Elzetta’s must have!!!

Excellent light. Feels like it could be fired from a 12 gauge and survive. Nice wide beam of warm light. No need for flood lense.

I purchased an Elzetta Alpha with intent to use it as a weapon mounted light on my SBR. I was not able to mount the light as the outside diameter is 0.985″, making it too small for most of the mounting options available. With that being said, I do not think I would necessarily recommend this light as a weapon light. The owner of MTG dissuaded me from Alpha for that purpose, and I believe he was absolutely correct.
Where this light shines [pun intended] is as an unobtrusive addition to your EDC gear. It is small, light in the pocket, and provides enough useful light to augment a subcompact or pocket carried pistol. The tint is natural, and the beam has a soft corona that gives you information without being harsh on your eyes.
Bottom line: If you are considering a handheld light to add to your EDC gear, look no further than the Elzetta Alpha.

This is a remarkable small pocket flashlight with the unmistakable feel of a quality tool that will last well into the coming years. Expensive by comparison with many others but in the end likely the most sensible purchase a serious flashlight user could make. I am very pleased, indeed
